From Learning Disabilities to Learning Differences…
From Learning Disabilities to Learning Differences Over to Learning Abilities and Learning Gifts

Saturday, March 10, 2012
8:00 AM to 9:00 AM

We will begin with a brief introduction to the history of learning disabilities (LD) and their treatment. We propose a model of LD which states that perceptual distortions ensuing from confusion in the environment are a key factor in the behavioral symptoms. Our goal in treating a LD client is to reduce the confusions and so lead him to more clarity and a more successful and fruitful life. We will demonstrate important assessment tools and questionnaires. From there we will discuss particularly the use of Hemoencephalography and peripheral biofeedback, together with various adjunct modalities (Warnke Lateral Trainer w/music & video, pRoshi, PlayStation, and BAUD) in the treatment of the various types of LD.
